Kids races to kick off Marianas Paddlefest

Youth races will open the Marianas Paddlefest on June 28 at the Hyatt RegencySaipan beachside.

The youth triangle event—Under-12, U14, and U16—will begin at 11:15am. Registration starts at 10am, while the pre-race briefing will be at 11am.

The adults Open 17-and-over participants will begin their events at 11:45am and the races will resume after the lunch break with the kids relay at 1pm to be followed by the adults at 2pm. Awarding ceremonies is at 3pm.

There will also be a men’s and women’s triangle courses as well as a mixed five-person relay for adults and kids.

The youth course is approximately 100 meters, while the 500m is for adults with both events including a run leg (about 40 to 50m) at the finish line at the beach

The race will be at the lagoon area where spectators can see all the action on the beach.

Early registration is still ongoing at Hyatt-Saipan’s Club Elan and at Windsurfing Saipan, located north Hyatt Regency-Saipan’s beach side.

Early registration for youth (8-16 years old) is $10 and $20 for adults (Over-17) until June 24. Fee rates after June 24 will be $15 for youth and $30 for adult. Boards will be available for use through Windsurfing Saipan on race day for $5.

Organizers of the event are also looking for additional sponsors to help them in their fundraising efforts with proceeds going towards future events that aim to keep our youth active through paddlesports.

Bank of Hawaii, Hyatt Regency-Saipan, Windsurfing Saipan, JET Holdings, Triple J Enterprises, Tan Siu Lin Foundation, and KKMP Radio 92.1 are the event partners and sponsors.
