Starting today, Kensington Hotel Saipan in San Roque resumes daily operations, after over a year of partial operations due to COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Sales and Marketing manager Katy Hung, the CNMI being on Level Green in the community vulnerability risk scale for a month now accelerated their decision to open the hotel’s doors not just during weekends but every day, bringing back top notch services for stay-in, leisure and dine-in bookings—just like pre-pandemic times.

“The lifting of many restrictions definitely accelerated our decision and it is our great pleasure to resume operations every day starting today. After more than a year of operating under a limited schedule, Kensington Hotel Saipan is ready to welcome and accommodate local guests on a daily basis with all-time favorite amenities and customer service that vows to wow,” she said.

This means one of Kensington Hotel Saipan’s priorities is recalling its furloughed employees, followed by the rehiring of those who had been laid off. “After all these have been done and there’s still shortage in labor, we will hire from the local market,” she said.

Services that will resume include daily operation of ocean view rooms, use of the hotel’s main pool, kid’s pool, infinity pool, and indoor playground Kenny Play Deck; OHAS café with a la carte menu, the Saturday Crazy Asian Buffet, and Sunday Irresistible Brunch.

Adding to the excitement of resuming normal operations is the availability of local discounts and promotions for CNMI residents, Hung said.

“Our ‘Kensington Delight’ Staycation will continue not only on the weekends but extend even on weekdays. If you are coming from Rota or Tinian, we got you covered with a package called ‘‘Kensington Vacation with Car’ promotion—a staycation inclusive of car rental,” she said.

“OHAS Café will also have daily lunch and set dinner that will run with different themes that will surely consist of scrumptious meals. We offer 20% discount during Monday to Thursday, and 10% discount on Friday to Sunday,” Hung said.

Kensington Hotel Saipan is one of the premiere hotels on Saipan, known to accommodate high-end tourists. During the pandemic when no tourists were coming in, they remained opened partially to offer staycation packages for local residents. The hotel has a Trip Advisor’s Traveler’s Choice badge that puts it among the best hotels in the Asia Pacific region.

With the reopening of tourism in the CNMI, Kensington Hotel Saipan is not lagging behind to meet the demands of the tourism industry. “This weekend, we are helping the Marianas Visitor’s Authority to accommodate the familiarization tour visitors from Korea,” Hung said.
