Tan Holdings FC registered the first win at the resumption of the league, which did not hold games last Nov. 1 and 8 in observance of the All Saints Day and due to the unplayable pitch. Tan Holdings cruised to a 5-1 win over Independents FC for the former’s second win in three games. Tan Holdings other match (against Matansa FC on Oct. 25) ended in a draw.
Mary Kay Alferos powered Tan Holdings to the easy victory, scoring four goals in the one-sided match. She posted the first two in the opening 45 minutes of the match, while Chevy Kate Alipio added one to lift Tan Holdings to a 3-1 advantage. Amy Furnare was the lone IFC player to hit the board in the first half and her team failed to counter the two more goals Alferos logged in the second half.
The loss was IFC’s second in a row after winning its debut against Matansa FC.
Matansa also absorbed its second defeat in three games, as Kanoa FC notched a 4-1 win in their match last weekend.
Lalaine Pagarao led Kanoa’s victory, making a hat-trick in the final match of the night. She hit back-to-back goals in the first half and also scored Kanoa’s last goal. Mariebell Aldan registered Kanoa’s other goal in the second half, while Bernadette Horey put Matansa in the board with her goal in final frame, too.
Kanoa improved its record to 3-1 for solo second place in the team standings behind the unbeaten and idle Shirley’s FC (3-0).
