Kagman health center gets $188.7K grant
The Kagman Community Health Center has once again received a $188,706 grant from the Affordable Care Act last week.
The center was opened in April 2013, with the help of ACA funds. About $608,333 was awarded to the center in June 2012 and it has been receiving additional grants that have proven helpful to the facility.
KCHC serves the communities of Kagman, San Vicente, Papago, Fina Sisu, Dan Dan, and As Terlaje.
According to KCHC executive director Vince Castro, they will be expanding some areas of the center with enough funding to provide more options and seek help for transportation.
KCHC and the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority signed an agreement in late June for COTA to provide transportation services to the center.
Meanwhile, pediatricians from the Commonwealth Health Center have started helping KCHC in providing check-ups for children.
KCHC said that the pediatricians will be in for most Wednesdays and Fridays and will be able to conduct child checks, Head Start, sick children visits, or any patients with chronic diseases.
