The CNMI Office of the Governor, in collaboration with Lions Clubs International District 204-Region II, recently completed the assembly of Kagman Elementary School’s new playground equipment.
According to Office of the Governor Community Relations coordinator Annamae Adaza, the effort is a week-long service project to assist KagES with their physical education objectives.
“We are very pleased to have the partnership and collaboration of the Lions Club and many other service groups in our community. We want to thank the CNMI Governor’s Office staff Abraham Castro, Joel Pangelinan, and John Arceo with providing manpower to help the students of Kagman,” Adaza said.
KagES principal Dr. Ignacia Demapan shared that the endeavor provides alternate forms of physical exercise to the students and seeking manpower for the project was the next step after procuring the new assembly.
Office of the Governor Special Projects coordinator Roy Ada added that among other community projects that are ongoing, providing assistance to schools and villages when possible, are part of this year’s priorities.
“Among the ongoing projects are the Saipan Belau Bai Project, San Vicente Park, and the Ma’afala Breadfruit Initiative in Kagman, but we are proactively pursuing community projects that can benefit our residents in the villages. This is in line with the governor and lieutenant governor’s vision of revitalizing our schools and villages. We also want to thank and recognize the various departments for their continued assistance such as DPW, OGM, DPL, DLNR, DOC, NMHC, BECQ, and Mayor Apatang,” Ada said.
“Through public-private partnerships, we’re making sure that our recovery and development is felt in our villages by our children and parents alike. This is one of many projects to come,” Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres said.
“Students and parents are at the forefront of our village revitalization projects. Community buy-in is important, and we will continue to push out projects that are citizen-centric and beneficial for our kids,” Lt. Gov. Arnold I. Palacios. (PR)
