KagES to temporarily relocate classes to ChaCha
To ensure students and all stakeholders’ safety, Kagman Elementary School will temporarily relocate and hold classroom instructions at Chacha Oceanview Middle School due to an electrical issue, Education Commissioner Glenn P. Muña said Thursday.
School year 2019-2020 will begin tomorrow, Sept. 3.
Under a temporary double-session setup, Kagman Elementary School will be accommodated by its next-door neighbor, Chacha Oceanview Middle School, as a private contractor have been working to restore the school’s power connection back to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. power grid, Muña said.
Kagman Elementary School lost power connection last week and the Public School System, with the assistance of CUC, has been working with the contractor immediately restore power, Muña explained.
“With our Kagman students, parents and stakeholders’ safety and welfare our utmost priority, we regretfully have to temporarily hold classroom instruction under a double-session setup at Chacha Oceanview Middle School,” Muña said. “We have been working closely with the private contractor, along with CUC, and we’re advised that this will just be temporary as they work round-the-clock to meet the target power restoration between the next four to six weeks.”
Muña extended his appreciation to all Kagman public education stakeholders for their continued understanding and patience as the school district continues to ensure a smooth and seamless reopening of classes. (PR)
