The Department of Finance is reminding everyone that the deadline for the filing of taxes in the CNMI is coming up next week, Wednesday, July 15, following a three-month extension to provide relieve due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finance Secretary David Atalig said in an interview that the Division of Revenue & Taxation is currently working on all filings. “The tax filing deadline was moved from April 15th to July 15th. Division of Revenue & Taxation is processing all tax return filings and we hope to process the first batch of Child Tax Credit payments by Aug. 15th or earlier,” he said.

“As for other tax refunds/rebates, we hope to have this all processed and paid out by end of August or early September,” he added.

In March, Gov. Ralph DLG Torres announced the special relief to individuals and businesses who are struggling with the economic downturn as a result of COVID-19.

To access digital versions of the tax forms, taxpayers are encouraged to visit the Department of Finance website at www.dof.gov.mp/forms. For questions or concerns, send an email to info@dof.gov.mp.
