Muña led the 20 graduating class of GCA high school this year. Also the most outstanding graduate during her middle school promotions ceremony, Juliana is the daughter of Nick and Esther Muña.
In an interview with Saipan Tribune, Muña shared her plans of pursuing medicine at Seattle University.
In her inspiring message to fellow graduates, Muña recalled the happy memories and meaningful experiences she has had with friends, mentors, and peers.
“These past four years have been exciting for all of us. We have proven ourselves to be as great as we can be,” she said.
Muña described it as a great honor and privilege to be this year’s class valedictorian. She expressed her gratitude and shared her achievements with her proud parents, friends, and mentors who all helped her achieved her goals in high school.
For Muña, high school at GCA was not merely one of surviving but also about making memories of friendship, love, and faith. “That’s what makes me proud to be a graduate of GCA; it’s what makes me proud to be an Eagle.”
Muña challenged her peers to maintain a positive attitude. “I would like to challenge all of you to be the change you wish to see. To live the life you wish to live. Commit to something, do something, achieve something, and experience everything. Be kind to others and help others that can’t help themselves. In everything you do, do the best you can. Live your best. Life is pretty short, so make every moment count and you’ll see how exciting life is,” she added.
GCA bestowed its second highest academic honor on Kelly Ann T. Hofschneider, who emerged as this year’s salutatorian. She is the daughter of William and Sue Hofschneider.
The recipient of the prestigious Eagle Award was Leona Pangelinan, with Genesis Manglona earning runner-up honors.
Students who were recognized in the consistent honor roll included Juliana Muña, Kelly Hofschneider, Seung Hyun Park, Ji Yeon Choi, William Sherwin Canedo, Se Ryeon Oh, Leona Yvonne Pangelinan, and Emman Parian.
