JTM Saipan keeps Al-Ger Manpower winless

JTM Saipan continues to be in play for one of the Top 2 seeds in the open division of the Legends Sports Association Invitational Basketball League after routing Al-Ger Manpower, 99-74, last Sunday at the Koblerville Basketball Court.

The lopsided win was the sixth in seven games for JTM Saipan as it tied Chang Ming Market in second place. Still in the lead is Blue Haus with its unblemished 7-0 win-loss card.

JTM Saipan lorded it over Al-Ger Manpower early and often as it quickly established a double-digit lead in the opening quarter and never looked back. 

After leading by 10 in the first canto, JTM Saipan would balloon its lead to 12 points, 36-24, at the half before blowing AGer Manpower to kingdom come in the third, 72-51, then cruised to the 25-point win.

Ryan Bayna and Jonel Broncona scored 20 points apiece to lead JTM Saipan in the victory, while Joseph Torres added 19 markers for good measure.

“Smoking” Jun Tabora was again brilliant in defeat as the scoring machine scored a season-high 40 points in the loss, which was Al-Ger Manpower’s seventh in as many tries.

In other games last Sunday, Blue Haus continued its march toward perfection after thumping Pepoy’s Cafe, 119-82. It was the sixth loss in seven games for the latter.

Chang Ming Market, meanwhile, posted the aforementioned sixth victory with a masterful 88-53 win over Marianas Health Services, which dropped to 3-4.

NAPA Auto Parts escaped by the skin of its teeth, 86-84, against Pacific Best Choice to improve to 4-3, while dealing its foe a fourth loss against three wins.

Also hiking its record to 3-4 is Padrinos Tuesday Club following its 96-82 beating of Vizion Insurance, which dropped to 2-5.
