JSTA, partners lead Garapan holiday cleanup

In preparation for the holidays, Japan Saipan Travel Association and its tourism partners conducted a cleanup of Garapan on Dec. 19, 2015, netting approximately 200 lbs of trash. (MVA)

In preparation for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, the Japan Saipan Travel Association and its tourism partners conducted a cleanup of the main tourist district of Garapan on Dec. 19, 2015.

Fifty-eight volunteers representing 21 companies joined the cleanup beginning at 6:30am. Volunteers, including children, spread out and cleaned up along both the roadside and the beach from the Carolinian Affairs Office to Micro Beach.

Groups and companies joining JSTA included Marianas Visitors Authority, Pacific Development Inc., Pacific Micronesia Tour, Tasi Tours & Transportation, R&C Tours, H.I.S. Saipan, Good Care, Himawari, Aqua Connections, Marine Sports Club Inc., Wondersea, Watabe Wedding, Minimax Scuba, Nippon Travel Agency, Paupau Tours, Aqua Marine, Seashore Dive, Kan Pacific, MASA Dive, Sakura Marine, and Northern Marianas Dive Operators Association.

The cleanup effort netted approximately 200 lbs of trash. (MVA)
