JP Hero Run Virtual Edition set
The Tan Siu Lin Foundation will go ahead with this year’s edition of the JP Hero Run, but will follow the trend at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic by holding a virtual race.
The event dubbed as JP Hero Run 2020 Virtual Edition is open to both on and off-island runners. Participants can choose between the 5K distance or 10K and may record their time on any GPS devise and submit them to web scorer at https://www.webscorer.com/register?pid=1&raceid=227867 for the non-competitive division.
For the competitive race, the required distance is 10K and is open only to on-island runners and the course will be from Minatchom Atdao in Susupe to R&J Wines in Garapan and back. Runners in the competitive division are required to use the Strava app to record their times and mileage.
Runners must complete the needed distance (single run) between Nov. 30 and Dec. 20. Shirts will be given to registered participants (while supplies last), while awards will be handed out to the Top 3 overall (men’s and women’s divisions) in the competitive race.
Registration fee for competitive division is $15 and $10 for non-competitive. Off-island participants, which can run the distance in any course they prefer, will also get the event’s shirts, but will be required to pay the appropriate postage fee and provide their mailing address to the organizers.
Registration is ongoing at https://www.webscorer.com/register?pid=1&raceid=227867, while shirts can be picked at the TSL Foundation office at the JP Center Building in Beach Road on weekdays from 9am to 5pm. Signup deadline is set for Dec. 19.
Proceeds from this year’s JP Hero Run 2020 Virtual Edition will be donated to the Marianas March Against Cancer and the Commonwealth Cancer Association. For more information, send email to jprun@tanholdings.com.
