Jason “The Fire” John lived up to his nickname and was right on target last Wednesday night to rule the Saipan Electronic Darts Association’s weekly Bud Light tournament held at the Jokers Bar & Restaurant in Garapan.

John was unstoppable and completed his victory by beating Jun Santos in the finals. He also defeated Paul Quizon, Roy Tereyama, and Santos in the elimination round.

Santos began his campaign with victories over Darrol Atalig and Jeff Barit but was relegated to the losers bracket after dropping his first meeting with John.

He faced Barit in their semis match in the losers bracket to earn the right of facing early qualifier John.

The result, however, was the same as John won’t be denied of the win.

Barit finished third while Atalig came in fourth. Tereyama, Boom Cruz, and Quizon placed fifth, sixth, and seventh to complete the list of participants.

Last Wednesday’s tournament could be one of the last as SEDA is about to start the 2015-2016 Winter/Spring season on Nov. 30 where all seven players are expected to join their respective teams that would compete in the eight divisions.

SEDA recently held a captains meeting to plan the new season where they would still implement the same league rules used in the previous seasons.

Interested teams who want to join in the eight divisions—Masters, A, Ladies, Tuesday B, Chichirika and Kingfisher C, and Thursday Fanihi and Flame Tree B—have until Nov. 23, Monday, to sign up.

Jonny’s Bar & Grill, VFW Post 3457, Blue Koi Tavern, Sands Café & Bar, Jokers Bar & Restaurant, Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill, 6JMS Sports Bar, Doro’s Lechon, and Oleai Beach Bar & Grill will be sponsoring teams this season.
