Joe I. Sablan topped the Saipan Golfers Association March Ace of the Tournament last March 25 at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort.
Sablan fired a 65 net score built around a gross score of 89. He shot a 46 in the front nine before retiring to the clubhouse with a 43 in the back nine.
Rene Batallones was a far six strokes off Sablan’s total with a 71 net. He came away with that net score after shooting a 41 and 46 in the front and back end for a gross of 87.
Tony Deleon Guerrero completed the Top 3 with his 72 net score. He clubbed a 44 in the first nine holes before improving by two strokes for a 46 in the final nine for a gross of 90.
In the closest to the pin competition, Jung Eun Teack was supreme in holes No. 3 and 14, Patrick Cepeda was without peer in hole No. 12, while Tony Deleon Guerrero beat everyone in hole No. 12.
Batallones and Deleon Guerrero brought out the lumber in holes No. 8 and 18, respectively, to win the longest drive competitions.
Sablan now joins early qualifiers for the SGA 2023 Ace of the Month Tournament—Ray Salas for January and Das Krishnan for February.
The SGA 2023 April Ace of the Month Tournament is scheduled this Sunday, April 16, at the LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort east course. Tee time is 9am with a show time of 8:30am.
