Joeten-Kiyu Public Library’s Bookmobile is on the move.

With the library set to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, as part of the pre-anniversary festivities, Team JKPL hosted a picture-taking at the JKPL parking lot for the much anticipated and newly retrofitted JKPL Bookmobile and Technology Mobile Express last Nov. 19, 2021.

After months of retrofitting, the Technology Mobile Express, along with the newly acquired JKPL Bookmobile, have made their way home to Susupe, Saipan. Local dignitaries and JKPL staff attended the picture-taking last Nov. 19, 2021, with Gov. Ralph DLG Torres witnessing a very special early Christmas present just in time for the JKPL’s 30th anniversary celebration.

Commonwealth Library Council treasurer Charles V. Cepeda, Sen. Vinnie Sablan (R-Saipan), House Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez (Ind-Saipan), Rep. Angel Demapan (R-Saipan), Rep. Lee “Pan” Tenorio (R-Saipan), and Rep. Roy Ada (R-Saipan) were also in attendance that day.

“Thank you, library director Erlinda C. Naputi, for your strong leadership and for the hard work and contribution each and everyone of you have done in ensuring that our community receives the best programs and services especially for our most underserved. Thank you, and happy holidays,” said Torres.

A formal unveiling for the newly retrofitted Bookmobile and Technology Mobile Express will be revealed this December. Stay tuned, CNMI! (PR)
