The Joeten Kiyu Public Library will host the 4th Annual Trunk-or-Treat this Saturday, Oct. 31.

The event is free and open to the community. Start time will be from 4pm to 7pm in the JKPL parking lot.

The celebration includes a $100 cash prize to one of the 22 confirmed trunk participants for the best-decorated trunk including free candy and treats for trick-or-treaters.

Let’s Move Marianas will also hold obstacle courses and other physical activities behind the Children’s Library. Power 99 will be on site doing a live broadcast with the Department of Public Safety and JROTC cadets assisting with traffic.

Through the determination of the JKPL team and a $2,500 donation by Best Sunshine, the event was made possible.

Earlier this month technical services librarian Rosalyn Ajoste stated that the event comes as a much needed celebration to boost the spirits of the community since Typhoon Soudelor.

The Trunk or Treat was first envisioned as a way for children to enjoy and participate in Halloween festivities in a safe manner. It continues to draw a large crowd of avid participants every year.
