JKPL to host ukulele classes again this year
Joeten Kiyu Public Library will be hosting ukulele classes once again and registration is ongoing for those who attended its beginner’s class and wanting to join the intermediate class, according to JKPL Children Library associate Erlinda Naputi.
Ukulele instructor Larry Lee will be conducting the classes and will begin on Jan. 13 every Tuesday from 4pm to 5pm. Classes cost $50. Deadline for registration is on Jan. 9.
The intermediate class is for students who passed Lee’s beginners class or students who have basic ukulele skills and would like to advance their knowledge.
“For a third year in a row, Lee, has taught over 100 students since he began teaching ukulele class at JKPL. His instruction and leadership is proven by an exemplary performance of his students performing live at events such as Taste of the Marianas, Street Market, Flame Tree Arts Festival, and the first annual Ukulele Festival,” Naputi said.
Minimum age requirement is 8 years and older and adults are welcomed, too. Students must provide their ukuleles and a folder to hold music sheets. Parents must also sign a liability waiver form and must respect the library rules as well.
