JKPL holds Children’s Summer Reading Program
The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is excited to announce that it once again held its 12th Annual Collaborative Summer Reading Program, which ran from June 12 to June 22. It was a two-week session, for ages 6 to 12 years old. This year, the Summer Library theme was “Libraries Rock!” During these sessions, the children had the opportunity to meet new friends, work as a team, and engage in various activities which included the following: read alouds, crafts, a computer day, sports, a special guest presenter, community presentations, writing, Libraries Rock! riddles/jokes, a movie day, music & movement, and much more.
Last Friday, June 22, the JKPL Summer Reading Program wrapped up its sessions with certificates of completion, gift certificates, movie passes, tote bag, and many other giveaways. The children were also treated to a fun mini carnival.
The JKPL would like to take the opportunity to extend a huge appreciation to all parents/guardians, volunteers, and sponsors for their support in taking part in the summer program.
