JKPL to have food drive hosted by Americorps
Book sale, rummage sale this weekend
The Joeten Kiyu Public Library will be having a food drive for Karidat that will be hosted by the Americorps on May 10.
The food drive will be held at the library in Susupe and will be coordinated by Leeani Villagomez and San Vicente and Dandan elementary schools’ Americorps members.
JKPL executive director John Gonzales welcomes the Americorps’ team effort in hosting the food drive.
“Saturday is considered the most popular day of the week with high patron traffic so we hope the food drive will be a success,” he said.
Gonzales said it is a privilege to collaborate with Americorps in serving the needy.
“We consider it a privilege to collaborate with their group to reach a captive audience and sector of our population in order to collect much needed food supply to serve the needy members of our community and being competently served by an esteemed community organization as the Karidat,” he said.
In other news, JKPL will be having a book sale and rummage sale this Saturday, May 3, from 7am to 12pm.
JKPL technical services librarian Rosalyn Ajoste said this will be a great opportunity for the public to sell their used items and buy secondhand books at a discount.
“Make extra cash by selling unwanted or unused items. Lots are at $25 for a 10×10 space and $50 for a 10×20 space. Spaces are limited so stop by the library and reserve one today,” she said.
