Oceana filmed on the islands for 10 days last month, covering dive sites and other tourist attractions. The website’s last visit was in 2014 when they featured Rota’s attractions and dive sites.

Oceana has a monthly page view of 230,000 and uses social networking sites to promote the media to divers. Oceana introduces major oversea diving destinations such as Palau, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and the Northern Mariana Islands. The website will also develop a Northern Marianas pamphlet for release in April 2015 targeting young females.

“The Marianas Visitors Authority was pleased to assist Oceana with the processing of permits and some other logistics for their recent filming [on] Saipan and Tinian,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman.

Sites visited included Managaha Island, Banzai Cliff, Last Command Post, Suicide Cliff, Bird Islands Lookout, Wing Beach, Paupau Beach, Obyan Beach, Micro Beach, Forbidden Island, Sugar King Park and a number of key dive sites. Other locations visited included Pacific Islands Club Saipan Seaside Bar & Grill, Mariana Resort & Spa, Mandi Asia Spa, Aqua Resort Sunset Dinner BBQ, Star Sands Plaza, Hafa Adai Shopping Center, Saipan Sunset Cruise, Let’s Go Tour, Cha, and Winchell’s. During their three days of diving on Tinian, the group also visited Tinian Dynasty Hotel & Casino and toured local attractions and historic sites. (MVA)
