Japan trip registration deadline closing in

Saipan Mayor’s Office executive assistant Yuki Kishimoto is urging those interested to participate in a Japan trip this year to register as soon as possible.

The six-day Sanpo En Japan trip will be held on Feb. 4 to 10 and Kishimoto is inviting all schools and any students willing to join the trip.

The Sanpo En group is looking at 12 students, ages 10 to 18 years old, and two chaperones.

“The students need to pay for their airfare but the accommodations will be covered by Sanpo En. It’s open for all schools. They can get the application form at the mayor’s office or download it from our website, www.saipanmayor.net,” Kishimoto said.

“But it’s a first come, first serve basis so they must turn in their application forms first. Sanpo En wants to get the list of participants [as early as possible],” Kishimoto said.

Applications need to be turned in by Jan. 15.

This year will mark the 37th year since the relationship between Saipan and Sanpo En was created.

For more information about the Japan trip, call the Saipan Mayor’s Office at 234-6208 or visit its office at the second floor of the Ladera Building along Beach Road in Oleai.
