Jan. 15 is last day to apply for DUA
This is to remind everyone that the last day to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance is Jan. 15, 2019.
DUA is available for individuals who have lost their jobs, had their regular work hours reduced, or were self-employed individuals but are no longer able to work as a direct result of Typhoon Mangkhut.
Individuals may apply for DUA if they have had a week(s) of unemployment after Sept. 11, 2018, which is the date that Typhoon Mangkhut occurred.
Individuals may also apply for DUA if they have had a week(s) of unemployment after Oct. 24, 2018, which is the date when the Super Typhoon Yutu disaster began.
How to apply
Claimants may apply for DUA either in person, by mail, or by phone. DUA applications and other forms may be obtained at either of the following location(s): Saipan: Springs Plaza, first floor Unit 5, Gualo Rai; Rota: Mayor’s Office, Tatachog; Tinian: Edu’s Plaza, first floor, San Jose.

Individuals who willfully conceal material facts or knowingly lies to obtain DUA to which they are not entitled will be required to repay all benefits fraudulently collected and may be prosecuted.
