James Deleon Guerrero will take over as vice president of long-running local business JM Holdings LLC. A graduate of business management at Chaminade University in Honolulu, the 26-year-old came back to Saipan recently to help with the family business and re-establish himself to his roots and home.

According to Deleon Guerrero, his father Jesus Manuel “JM” V. Deleon Guerrero, instilled in him a strong business sense and foundation. “As a former managing director of Marianas Visitors Bureau, he cultivated in me to have interest to help the community, other businesses, and strengthening the economy…as an only child, I want to continue his legacy,” he said.

“At JM Holdings LLC, we do a lot of real estate business, house rentals, land sales, longterm leases, commercial, agriculture and farming, landscaping projects, plant rentals, and design… my experience from my previous employer coupled with my education are a blessing and I want to use them here,” he added.

Aside from a business management degree, Deleon Guerrero spent another four years taking up construction and engineering management. “That and the experience that I have garnered working in that industry has been very fruitful… My work included a lot of important tasks like providing and reviewing blueprints and drawings on any project that I will be working on and closing out projects,” he said.

“All the study and experience I have will be of good use here. There will be big adjustments but I know I can adapt with the help and support of my family. These will be my tools in the business to continue the vision of my father,” he added.

Deleon Guerrero said immediate goals is to use social media as a platform for the company. “I know how advantageous social media is to any business and I plan to put up a digital base where clients can easily reach us… part of the company’s long-term goal is to really help the community. I didn’t think that I was going to come back anytime soon, but here I am now… and I want to spend as much time with them (parents) and this is where I would rather be,” he added.
