Jamaican Grill’s Barnes is Chef’s Cup winner

(Contributed Photo)  HAGATNA, Guam-Budweiser named Jamaican Grill’s Raymond Barnes as this year’s Budweiser Chef’s Cup winner of the 5th Annual Taste Guam. His winning recipe for the “Bud Jerk Chicken” proved to be the perfect combination of Jamaican Jerk Seasoning and Budweiser beer.

Participants of the Chef’s Cup were tasked to compose a dish using Bud or Bud Light as one of its main ingredients. As the winner, Budweiser awarded Jamaican Grill the traveling trophy for a year, along with cash and other prizes.

Other events in the 5th Annual Taste Guam hosted by the Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association featured the 3rd Annual BurgerFest, which featured the Gourmet Burger Grilling Competition, People’s Choice Award and Burger Eating Contest.

Net proceeds from Taste Guam will benefit the Micronesian Chef’s Association, Guam Community College Culinary Arts Program and GHRA scholarships. (PR)
