Jacq needs our help

Share

Many in the community both in the Northern Mariana Islands and Guam will remember Jacqueline Hernandez as perhaps the most talented photojournalist on island, documenting through her camera important events and milestones in our lives.

Jacq worked as a newspaper photographer for the Marianas Variety, Saipan Tribune, and Pacific Daily News. In 2011 she went back to the Philippines, working as a photojournalist for Manila Bulletin and occasionally taking photographs for the Associated Press and Agence France Presse.

A few months ago Jacq was diagnosed with Stage II HER2-positive breast cancer. While her condition is curable, the cure requires aggressive—and expensive—treatment. She is facing a mountain of medical bills and she needs all the help she can get.

This is why a group of Jacq’s friends has launched a fundraising campaign to cover some of the medical costs.

We wish for Jacq to worry less about paying bills and focus more on getting better. We want her back out in the field with her camera as quickly as possible. To see why, check out Jacq’s website: http://jacqhernandez.blogspot.com/

Any amount you can donate would be greatly appreciated. To access the fundraising site, go to: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/jacq-s-get-well-fund. Thank you for your support and understanding.
