IT&E Dark subdued Docomo Pacific, 69-44, while RNV Construction prevailed against Gilas Batang-72-68, as games in the 2019 One Pacific Promotional Basketball League resumed last Thursday at the Civic Center Court.

IT&E Dark outgunned Docomo Pacific in the first half to take control of the match and improve its record to 3-3. Docomo fell to a 2-4 mark to remain at the bottom half of the team standings in 12-team league that had its games rained-out for three days last week.

Docomo was held to four field goals in the first quarter for a measly 8 points and played worse in the second, scoring only 2 baskets and 7 markers, allowing IT&E Dark to take a 32-15 advantage at the break. Mike Cabanas had 8 points for IT&E Dark, while Ivan Devero and Ferick Aguon contributed 7 points each in the first half,

In the second half, Docomo Pacific picked up the slack with Robert Sanciangco recording 11 points and Billy Grow adding 8. However, their efforts were not enough to bring Docomo back in the game, while Raymark Castro stepped up for IT&E, firing 10 of his 12 markers in the second.

In the second game, RNV Constructions also played better in the first half to beat Gilas Batang.

RNV scored 20 points each in the first and second quarter to build an 8-point lead at halftime, 40-32, and used that as cushion to thwart Gilas Batang’s rally in the fourth period.

Ronald Rueda had 20 points to lead RNV, while Ariel Baul added 11, including the squad’s last 4 points that sealed the deal.

RNV notched victory No. 3 out of five games, while Gilas Batang is still winless in seven matches.
