IT&E Voyagers, Shark Attack remain atop divisions

Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s IT&E Voyagers and Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack remained atop their respective Saipan Billiards Association’s Agingan and Obyan divisions after the conclusion of Tuesday’s 2011 Budweiser Summer/Fall 8-Ball League matchups.
IT&E Voyagers snuck past X-Tream (25-66), 4-3, on the road at VFW Post 3457 to improve its win-loss record to 67-24 and an eight-game cushion in the Agingan Division standings over sister Team IT&E Incredibles (59-32).
Meanwhile, IT&E Incredibles bested Fotten Palau (21-70), 5-2, in a road match at Joe’s Sports Bar, while Utopia Bar’s Docomo Hustlers (52-39) sits in third place after downing Home Boyz Five (49-42), 4-3, on the road at Jonny’s.
Docomo’s Senen Pangelinan has ran the rack a league-best five times, while X-Tream’s Joseph Achas has twice sunk the 8-ball off the break.
Obyan Division’s Shark Attack took the first four singles matches for an automatic victory over D’Pirate Bar’s Pirata, 4-3, at home to improve its to 59-32.
The loss dropped Pirata (45-46) into third place in the ranking as Jonny’s Team SCS (46-45) pulled out a 4-3 road victory over Titans (36-55) at 19th Hole Bar.
Meanwhile, Crazy 8 (43-48) held it together to snatch a 4-3 upset over 19th Hole’s Poksu (44-47) at home in Jonny’s.
So far, Team SCS’s Erwin Gomez and Crazy 8’s Rey Pinangay each have ran the rack three times, while Crazy 8’s Zaldy Quebral and Pirata’s Dave Maratita have sunk the 8-ball off the break once apiece.
Last Tuesday, IT&E Voyagers welcome the Docomo Hustlers, X-Tream calls over Fotten Palau, and the IT&E Incredibles plays host to Home Boyz Five.
