IT&E Voyagers, Shark Attack ahead in SBA

(Contributed Photo) Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s IT&E Voyagers and Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Shark Attack are the current frontrunners in the Saipan Billiards Association- 2011 Budweiser Summer/Fall Open 8-Ball League after last week’s games.

IT&E Voyagers edged third-ranked Docomo Hustlers (38-25), 4-3, on the road in Utopia Sports Bar to improve to a 49-14 record and keep the Agingan division lead.

Nine games back in second place is Sand’s Bar’s IT&E Incredibles, which defeated the Home Boyz Five (30-33), 5-2, in an away match at Jonny’s, while Joe’s Steakhouse’s Fotten Palau (13-50) upset VFW Post 3457’s X-Tream (21-42), 4-3, at home.

In the Obyan division play, Shark Attack eased past 19th Hole Bar’s Titans (21-42), 6-1, at home to stretch its division lead to eight games with a 42-21 slate.

In other results, second-running D’Pirates Bar & Grill’s Pirata outlasted Jonny’s Crazy 8 (29-34), 4-3, on the road, and third-ranked Jonny’s Team SCS (32-31) evaded 19th Hole’s Poksu (31-32), 4-3, in a road match.

The season continues tonight with Agingan’s IT&E Voyagers hosting Fotten Palau, X-Tream facing Home Boyz Five, and the IT&E Incredibles meeting the Docomo Hustlers.

The Obyan pairings feature Team SCS versus Shark Attack, Titans against Crazy 8, and Pirata over Poksu.
