A $3,000 check was presented to the Filipino organization by IT&E officials at the latter’s office in Susupe yesterday.

The association will be holding a Queen of the World Gay Beauty Pageant on July 18 in celebration of its 14th anniversary.

IT&E’s customer operations executive director Rob Harell and managing director/regional controller Rose Soledad gave the check to Bayani president Mario Mayuga. Also present were event coordinator Annamae Adaza, event director Ernie Molina, and other Bayani officials and members.

“We’re very thankful to IT&E for the donation,” Mayuga said.

“This is an opportunity for us to reconnect with our loyal customer base. It’s always been a fun pageant in the past, our employees, and the community always enjoys the pageant,” Harell said.

“This is an opportunity for us to give back to them and provide opportunity for the larger part of the community to have fun,” he added, noting that many of those involved in the pageant always helped them in carrying out their community programs such as their Man’amko Makeover Day.

IT&E will also be holding a Texter’s Choice contest for the pageant where the community can vote who their favorite candidate is.

According to Mayuga, they will make sure that the public will be entertained by the pageant.

“We have a nice production number and our director Ernie Molina worked very hard and I believe we’ll have a nice show. I hope everybody enjoys,” Mayuga said.

Fourteen candidates of the pageant will be competing in five categories: national costume, lingerie wear, talent, evening gown, and the question-and-answer portion.

The candidates are Chris, Laura, Bernadette, Jolly, Sunshine, Rica, Georgia, Macy, Nestea, Tammy, Milkshake, Joanne, Babes, and Anne.

The winner of the Queen of the World title as well as the runners-up will be receiving cash prizes, crowns, sashes, and bouquets. Special awards such as Ms. Congeniality, Ms. Photogenic, and Spirit Award will be also given.

The pageant will be held at the Royal Taga Hall of Saipan World Resort from 6pm to 10pm. It is a fundraising event and tickets will be sold for $10 each.
