IT&E Dark blows out Light & Salt

IT&E Dark routed Light & Salt, 76-55, in the curtain-raiser in the 2019 One Pacific Promotional Basketball League last Thursday at the Civic Center Court.

IT&E Dark got its first win in four games, as it established an early lead and never relinquished it. Dan Chan and Ivan Devero made 7 and 6 points, respectively, lifting IT&E Dark to a 19-11 advantage.

In the second quarter, IT&E Dark remained strong and outgunned Light & Salt with Alferic Aguon firing 9 points and Devero adding 6 for their 41-26 halftime lead.

IT&E Dark continued its dominance of Light & Salt when the game resumed to secure the 18-point winning margin.

In the second game, Mawati triumphed against Saipan Adventure, 71-67.

Mawati started slow before turning the tables on Saipan Adventure in the second quarter where the former delivered 29 points. Mawati was down after the first period, 9-18, and quickly made the move in the second to knot the count by the halftime break, 38-all.

Frank Ferrer, Webb Gontar, and Jerome Directo combined for 18 of Mawati’s total points in the second quarter. They then continued to lead Mawati’s offense in the third period to grab the lead, 59-52, and the team kept the upper hand in the fourth with Arjay Nonato stepping up and delivering 6 points.
