Over 60 volunteers comprising employees, family members, student interns, and the Saipan Paddling Club joined in the cleanup effort, gathering at the Old Japanese Tank near the Quartermaster intersection at 5:45am. Groups then took to the north and the south and worked toward the central meeting point, picking up all trash and debris along the way.
The summer has brought a mix of weather, allowing for a lot of fallen leaves and other trash debris buildup to clutter the beachside walkway, a regular source of exercise for residents, visitors, and IT&E employees. Following the Saturday cleanup, the pathway was left immaculate with over 22 large bags of trash and debris collected.
Afterwards the group kicked back and recharged with a hearty breakfast, fresh fruits and other refreshments, as well as a participant raffle. In addition to being a great community service, the cleanup initiative also provides time for employees to get together and for the company to partner with some of its sponsored groups such as the Saipan Paddling Club.
IT&E’s quarterly cleanup is only one of its many Corporate Citizenship Initiatives as IT&E is also a proud sponsor of various sports, education, and community activities.
