Islander Way of Life

Life on Saipan is one of a kind,
We are very fortunate to have the Pacific Ocean
Inviting everyone to be out there in the sea shore.

Saturday and Sunday are the best days
To go to the beach.
We, islanders cannot refuse and resist
The charming magnificent enormous ocean.

Treat yourself with chicken kelaguen, titiyas, chicken chalakeles
Or ahu tuna poke,
If you want your tummy full, never miss chamorro bisteak, pot roast,
Kadun pika or escabeche,
But of course, without fina ‘denne, our taste bud will be in gloom.

Save room for dessert that is what my Mom’s advance notice,
Apigigi, guyuria, bunelos, potu or ahu
Wow! Where can I put all these sweets
Well, take a small portion so you can devour it all.

But that is not the ending
Here’s my piece of advice to everyone
Warning: Too much fruit causes …. H E A L T H
Mango, coconut, breadfruit and local banana are tempting organic
Local produce.

Hafa ‘Adai jan tirow!
Listen…take it or leave it,
These will help you live a longer bubbly life and bring you the blissful and cheerful Taste of the Marianas.
