- BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION Commonwealth Development Authority recently recognized Northern Marianas College student Isabelle Matsunaga, third from left, for winning the 2017 Business Plan Competition, which was sponsored by CDA. Matsunaga received a trophy and $1,000 scholarship to use toward her baccalaureate degree. - TAN HOLDINGS DONATES $10K Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of TanHoldings Corp., presented a check yesterday for $10,000 to Triple J Saipan as a platinum sponsor of the first Triple J Family Fun/Run/Walk themed “Foam and Fun,” to be held on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, starting at the 4H building park on Beach Road in Susupe. Funds raised from the event will go to non-profit groups, Commonwealth Cancer Association, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Triple J plans to make this an annual event. - HISTORY CONFERENCE: IT&E has donated $3,000 to the Northern Marianas Humanities Council in support of the 3rd Marianas History Conference.
