Island Apparel is named major sponsor of the 2012 Marianas March Against Cancer after providing financial support to the event committee through the purchase of T-shirts for teams, survivors, committee members, and volunteers.

Major sponsorship title is bestowed on corporations that donate $1,000 to $2,999 in cash or services.

“On behalf of the MMAC committee, we extend our sincere gratitude to the staff and management of Island Apparel for their support in the fight against cancer,” said overall committee chair Catherine Attao-Toves. “Island Apparel has been providing annual support to the MMAC for years and we acknowledge their generosity.”

MMAC is the largest cancer fundraiser in the CNMI and the signature fundraising activity of the Commonwealth Cancer Association.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the annual event slated for April 27 to 28, from 6pm to 6am at Hopwood Jr. High School field in Chalan Piao.

“We’d like to remind the community that the annual MMAC is this Friday and we are inviting everyone to come down and enjoy a night of great food and drinks, live entertainment and fun games all in support of the fight against cancer. We have 16 teams working hard to raise funds to fight this dreadful affliction so come down and show your support,” said Attao-Toves.
