Intoxicated man allegedly punches another
An intoxicated 23-year-old man allegedly punched a man who was watching a generator for a poker building in Garapan, and kicked three parked vehicles early morning of Sept. 2.
Peterson Joseph Keju was arrested that same day. He was then released pending further police investigation.
On Thursday, police served Keju with an arrest warrant for assault and battery, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.
His bail was set at $5,000 cash. Preliminary hearing is on Sept. 16.
Assistant public defender Tillman Clark was appointed as counsel for Keju. Assistant attorney general Chester Hinds appeared for the government.
Police detective Rhonda C. John stated in her report that police received a call from a staff at Viva Poker in western Garapan about an assault incident on Sept. 2 at 2:34am.
John said three police officers responded and were told that the suspect had just left.
At 3:01am, two officers spotted Keju, who then stated he was intoxicated and that a man kicked him in the face at Best Poker.
Paul Eric Dizon, a security guard, told police that when he opened his car parked next to Viva Poker, he saw Keju walk straight to Rufino Castro Jr., who was sitting down and looking at his cell phone, and punched him in the face.
Dizon took out his issued-baton and shouted at Keju to stop.
Keju walked away and kicked Dizon’s car and two other parked cars.
