An intoxicated 20-year-old man allegedly broke several items at Aquarius Bar and Grill in District 4, Rota, pushed and yelled at his father, threw a chair at a police officer, and resisted arrest on early morning Monday.

Raymond D. Castro Jr. was flown to Saipan and taken to Superior Court yesterday afternoon for bail hearing.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho maintained the $5,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for May 4 at 1:30pm.

Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit was appointed as counsel for Castro.

Police said Castro broke a speaker, a laptop, and two chairs—all worth $2,500.

Assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas informed the court that Castro has another active case on Rota involving another man for resisting arrest, obstructing justice, criminal mischief, minor consuming alcohol, and reckless driving.

Rota Police Detective Francis Manglona stated in his report that on Monday at 1:35am police received a call about a fight at Aquarius Bar and Grill.

Manglona said two police officers responded and observed Castro swinging a chair at his father.

Castro picked up a chair and threw it at responding police officer Ben H. Atalig, who was hit on the left leg. He picked up another chair and threw it toward the bar.

Officers Atalig and Joe Q. Camacho then calmed down Castro. Castro later started yelling at his father, and pushed and shouted at Officer Camacho.

Castro picked up another chair, but the officers subdued him. Castro kept on yelling and resisted arrest.

Manglona said during his interview later that morning, Castro said he was drinking a lot of beer with his family that night and continued drinking with his family past 12am at Aquarius Bar.

Manglona said Castro stated he does not know why got really mad and admitted throwing chairs and causing trouble.
