Intermittent water service on Capital Hill

Share

Commonwealth Utilities Corp. customers served by the Capital Hill reservoir will experience intermittent water service this week as progress continues on the pressure improvement and waterline project.

Beginning at 8am Tuesday, Jan. 5, CUC’s contractor, MPC Inc., will install a new bypass system at the Capital Hill tank site to improve system pressure and provide a more reliable water system. This phase of the project requires workers to completely drain the tank to install a new valve system; however, the current tank bypass system will be activated to allow customers to receive water.

Some areas of the Capital Hill service area will experience low pressure to intermittent water service. Once the new valve system is in place, CUC Operations personnel will secure the valve to allow water levels inside of the tank to recover overnight. Water service will be restored 6am Wednesday, Jan. 6.

Affected areas include the 1200 and 1300 blocks, Wireless, Chalan Talafofo, Papago Village, East Isa Dr. from Sarah Market to Mobil Gas Station. (CUC)
