Inter Godfather’s shuts out Kanoa

Inter Godfather’s drew goals from three different players to blank Kanoa FC, 3-0, as the spring season games in the 2014 M-League continued last Sunday at the Oleai Sports Complex.
Inter drilled back-to-back goals in a span of two minutes with Peter Loken scoring in the 13th minute and Arkie Reusora also finding the back of the net in the 15th. Masatoshi Otsuka was the third Inter Godfather’s player to break into the scoreboard with his goal in the 34th, lifting the team to a good lead at the break.

The younger crew of Kanoa FC never threatened a comeback in the second half, as it struggled against the tough defense of the more experienced and heftier Inter Godfather’s players.

Sun Palace 4, Women’s National Team 2
In the first game last Sunday, Sun Palace defeated the CNMI Women’s National Team.
Qing Long Yu towed Sun Palace to victory with his hat-trick, while Heng Guo Piao contributed one goal.
Yu got his first goal right in the second minute of the match, while Piao made it two in a row for Sun Palace six minutes later. Lalaine Pagarao then answered back for the Women’s National Team in the 10th minute trim down Sun Palace’s lead, but Yu scored anew six minutes later to lift his team to a 3-1 halftime lead.

A goal from Sarah Allen in the 62nd minute moved the Women’s National Team within one, again, but Yu saved the day for Sun Palace hitting the insurance in the 83rd minute.

KFAS 3, Paire 1
In the second game, Korean Football Association on Saipan topped Paire.
Brian Lee made a pair of goals to lead KFAS to victory. Chong Koo Gil drained the other goal for KFAS, while Ajani Burrell scored for Paire.

Burrell’s goal in the 42nd gave Paire its first and only taste of the lead, as Gil knotted the count in the second half with his goal in the 56th. Lee then broke the tie 20 minutes later with his first goal and then logged another one in the 80th.

In the final game last Sunday, Shirley’s FC shut out the Thundercats, 2-0.

Jack Phan and Kosuke Sato registered one goal apiece in Shirley’s FC’s win. The two also scored in Shirley’s 5-2 triumph over the Women’s National Team last Feb. 25. Sato was unstoppable in last week’s game, bagging four goals, while Phan added one. Pagarao recorded both goals for the Women’s National Team.
