Inos still in lead but Heinz closes gap

Gov. Eloy S. Inos continues to lead the gubernatorial race with 3,388 votes so far compared to the 2,417 of his closest pursuer, independent candidate Heinz Hofschneider.

With the Commonwealth Election Commission done tabulating Precincts 1, 2, 4, and 3A, Inos and his CNMI Republican Party running mate, Senate President Ralph Torres (R-Saipan), currently have a 971 lead on Hofschneider and his running mate, former Senate floor leader Ray Yumul.

Inos/Torres and Hofschneider/Yumul are followed by Juan Babauta/Juan Torres (1,454) and CNMI Democratic Party’s Edward Deleon Guerrero/Danilo Quitugua (305).

In the U.S. delegate race, incumbent Gregorio Kilili Sablan (Ind-MP) has now opened a 1,368-vote lead on Andrew Salas, 4,094-2,801.

In the race for the two House of Representatives seats in Precinct 2, incumbents John Paul P. Sablan (R-Saipan) and Rafael S. Demapan (R-Saipan) are currently leading with 553 and 527 votes, respectively. Absentee votes have yet to be counted.
