In reference to HB 17-226

This is on behalf of all the current government employees who longed for House Bill 17-226 to be passed. That did not happen due to the governor’s veto of the bill. Many employees were hoping for the bill to pass as they are in dire need of this and they all have financial situations at this moment.

Mr. Governor, you do not know and feel the hardship of all who are suffering and for all the employees who have nowhere to go but get their limited paychecks due to the austerity and unpaid holidays. Just remember that they all need money to live, to pay bills, and get food, especially knowing that they do not have enough to feed their children with their minimal salary.

HB 17-226 would be a very big help even if its just 50 percent of their fund contribution but I’m sure it will help them as much as possible to fulfill their needs and all their debts they are currently encountering. Come on now, you have to reconsider this bill and help one another. I believe some leaders agree with this and were disappointed when they found out you vetoed this bill. I am a concerned citizen who witnessed the hardship and see most of the employees praying and hoping for this to be made possible. Think about it and act quickly on this urgent matter.

I hope that all you Leaders who did not agree with HB 17-226 would take a bit of your time to read this and reconsider.
