Imperial Pacific’s Learning and Development recently participated in three events that were designed to assist college- and career-readiness of the islands’ high school students and graduates.

IPI’s Learning and Development participated in Career Talk, which was hosted by the Northern Marianas Trades Institute, the Start Smart seminar presented by the Northern Marianas College, and the Career Exploration Day for high school students organized by the Saipan Chamber of Commerce.

The Career Talk at NMTI resulted in three of their hospitality students joining the internship program of IPI.

IPI believes it is important for students in the community to be given the opportunity to see and experience the leisure and entertainment industry.

The Start Smart seminar, a pioneering initiative of NMC, was attended by more than 200 high school students. This was intended to prepare them for higher education and college-career opportunities, among others.

IPI’s Learning and Development personnel spoke to over 200 participants about working in the industry and the many great career and growth opportunities available within IPI.

At the same time, students joining the Career Exploration Day were given the opportunity to shadow IPI executives and managers. This afforded every intern the hands-on experience of the day-to-day operations within IPI. Interns were also given tasks to accomplish
