More jobs are available today.
The Hong Kong-based investment giant’s flagship project on Saipan continues to provide more and newer opportunities to all.
New and exciting career opportunities that weren’t available in the past are now within reach. Career opportunities that were once limited to other globally-recognized travel destinations are now available locally.
“Imperial Pacific came in and that’s when my spirit built up,” said Juan Borja Cepeda, assistant vice president of Logistics and Supply Operation at Imperial Pacific.
Imperial Pacific International gave a lifeline to many of Saipan’s residents, and the company’s focus toward bringing in world-class amenities and services continue to spur unprecedented job opportunities for all.
For Cepeda, a retiree prior to joining Imperial Pacific, the economic and community benefits particularly helped ease the islands’ difficulties.
And as a retiree, he felt the impact.
“Back then, we were only receiving 75 percent of our pension [because of a 25-percent cut]. But now our retirees are secured,” Cepeda said.
“I’ve followed this company from the start and I’m grateful for their assistance with the Retirement Fund,” added Cepeda, who previously worked for various companies such as the then-Continental Airlines, Triple B Forwarders, and CNMI Customs.
Cepeda has served to protect the nation’s freedom. He is a retired Army captain.
Cepeda is one of over 1,800 employees that are now working for Imperial Pacific.
Imperial Pacific is preparing to open the casino operation of its multimillion-dollar Imperial Pacific Resort-Casino, its long-term plan is to open the region’s first integrated resort.
Imperial Pacific is keen to catapult the islands to become one the world’s top travel destinations by offering world-class amenities and services.
Today, it is not only the largest private sector employer—thrice the size of the second largest private sector employer in the CNMI—it is growing rapidly, providing unprecedented employment lifeline to local residents and nonresidents.
Undeniably, the NMI’s economy has grown tremendously since 2015—the year when Imperial Pacific invested on Saipan.
From 2015 to end of April this year, Imperial Pacific’s employees paid a total of $6.63 million in payroll withholding taxes to the NMI government. This number is about to increase as Imperial Pacific continues its aggressive recruitment and hiring efforts.
For the past three years and four months, Imperial Pacific has contributed a total of $201.6 million into the local economy. This is from combined payments of Business Gross Revenue Tax, corporate income tax, excise tax, casino license fee, Commonwealth Casino Commission operation fund, donations and payroll withholding tax.
