Hyatt prepares for Chinese New Year

Hyatt Regency Saipan prepares to welcome the Chinese New Year by bringing in the executive chef of their sister hotel in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province in time for the celebration of the Chinese Lunar New Year on Feb. 8.

Chef Jacky Yu from the Park Hyatt Ningbo Resort and Spa will be cooking and promoting the traditional dishes of Zhejiang Province.

His selection will include crispy fried rice cake, pan-fried dumplings, sugar and rice wine-sauce marinated prawns, mussel and razor clams, seasoned fried king prawns, wok-fried crab, and Dong Qian Lake fish soup.

The Chinese Lunar New Year dinner buffet is only available for three nights, from Feb. 8 to 10, Monday to Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm at the Kili Café & Terrace. Buffet includes unlimited beer, wine, and iced tea.

The Public is also invited on Feb. 8, Monday, to watch the traditional lion dance performance by the Chinese Association of Saipan, CNMI at 11:30am at the hotel lobby and at 6:30pm at Kili Café & Terrace. The Chinese believe the lion brings in good luck.

The Chinese Lunar New Year will welcome in the Year of the Fire Monkey, the ninth of the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac.

The Chinese Lunar New Year dinner buffet is priced at $50 per person and $35 for Club at the Hyatt members.
