Through its corporate responsibility platform Hyatt Thrive and in partnership with its printing partner Marianas Variety and the Public School System, Hyatt Regency Saipan will host read-aloud sessions from April 20 to 24, 2015. These read-aloud sessions will feature I Care, a coloring storybook published by Hyatt Regency Saipan in partnership with PSS.

The I Care coloring storybook is co-authored by Lynette Villagomez and Bobby Cruz and illustrated by Nhorleen Bitco. The 12-page book features Liam and Isa as they discover the importance of being responsible members of society and of the value of caring—one of the higher purposes of Hyatt. The book project aims to impact the targeted audience, which would be pre-Kindergarten through third grade students in all CNMI public schools, as well as select private schools.

By way of the “I Care” initiative, Hyatt and PSS will impart the value of caring while advocating educational advancement and literacy.

“Taking active participation in this initiative is a way for Hyatt to invest in the long-term impact of education advocacy in the CNMI,” says Hyatt Regency Saipan’s general manager Nick K. Nishikawa.

The project’s peer review team was comprised of Luis Villagomez (“I Care” project coordinator and marketing communications manager for the hotel), Claudine Camacho (marketing coordinator for the hotel), Bobby Cruz (English language arts program coordinator for the CNMI PSS), Lynette Villagomez (T&FASEG program director), and Nhorleen Bitco (creative director of Ivertech Solutions).

Every April, Hyatt hotels around the world confirm their commitment to a higher purpose by giving back to their communities. Throughout the month, Hyatt associates worldwide will celebrate the company’s Global Month of Community Service, a time when the company’s 90,000 colleagues honor their commitment to give back to the thriving communities in which associates live. This April, the CNMI PSS will also celebrate National Library Week. (Hyatt)
