The Hustlers foiled the Str8 Shooters’ chances of clinching the No. 2 ranking after an 8-7 decision last week, giving the Voyagers, who won by default against the Smoke Pub Lancheras, the second championship berth.
The Hustlers finished the elimination round with a league-best 151-74 record or one win ahead of the Voyagers’ 150-75 slate.
The Hustlers hosted the visiting Voyagers at the Smoke Pub bar in Garapan for the battle for the first and second places. Matches were being played at press time.
The Str8 Shooters settled for third (141-84) and were battling Jonny’s Crazy 8 (109-116) for the third place trophy last night.
The Crazy 8 ended its season with an 8-7 decision over Sang&D’Gang in the other featured match.
The Sang&D’Gang (91-134) and the Lancheras (33-192), both supported by Smoke Pub, complete the standings.
Meanwhile, the finals between the Route33 Armatech Hustlers and the Smoke Pub Magic 8 Ball in the Thursday League will be played tomorrow.
The Hustlers finished the season with the league’s best record of 126-84, followed closely by the Magic 8 Ball’s 125-85 card. The Jokers Homboyz (122-88) and Wild Bills (111-99) will clash for the third place honors. (Jon Perez)
