The Saipan TV Hustlers dominated Smoke Pub Magic 8 Ball the entire match to complete a lopsided 12-3 win in last Thursday’s 2014 Saipan Billiards Association Budweiser Open 8-Ball League.

The victory allowed the Hustlers to gain more cushion against Magic 8 Ball, which earlier cut the Smoke Pub-backed team’s lead to one win. The Hustlers now hold a league-best 85-50 card, while Magic 8 Ball remained in second spot at 75-60.

The Jokers Homeboyz edged Jonny’s Crazy 8, 9-6, but are 11 wins behind Magic 8 Ball for second place.

The Homeboyz have already compiled a 64-56 won-loss record, with still six weeks to go in the league. The Crazy 8 dropped to 37-83.

The Jokers IT&E Voyagers drubbed Smoke Pub Sang&D’Gang, 10-5, in the other Thursday league match.

After the seven-week regular season, the league will play an additional three more weeks for the finals and the Budweiser Cup. (Jon Perez)
