Husband allegedly attacks wife, her friend inside car
A man was injured when he allegedly shattered one of the windows of a vehicle where his wife was at the entrance of Coral Ocean Point in Koblerville last Tuesday night.
Benjamin Bok Lee, 27, also allegedly repeatedly punched his wife’s male friend who was also inside the car and had aided her.
Lee was arrested for assault and battery-domestic violence and disturbing the peace.
Lee’s wife allegedly wanted a divorce because of his continued use of methamphetamine or “ice.”
When a police officer arrived at the scene, Lee was bleeding from his right hand and had a cut on his left forearm, scrapes on his right elbow, and his left eye was swelling.
On Monday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $10,000 cash bail on Lee and set the preliminary hearing for Aug. 14 at 9am.
Assistant public defender Cindy Nesbit is Lee’s counsel. Assistant attorney general Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.
A police officer was sent to a report of a disturbance at the entrance of Coral Ocean Point last Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 8:10pm.
Upon arriving, the officer saw Lee standing next to a red car, holding a little girl and arguing with his wife.
The officer saw the wife trying to grab the child from Lee. Another police officer also arrived and approached the family.
The first responding officer noticed that Lee was bleeding. Lee asked for an ambulance.
The officer then saw that the red car’s back driver’s side window had been damaged.
The officer also saw cuts on the forearm of the wife’s friend but he refused medical treatment.
The wife and his friend told police that Lee attacked them while they were inside the SUV. Lee was later arrested at the Commonwealth Health Center.
The wife told police that Lee had been beating her and that she had been asking for a divorce for a long time now. He allegedly threatened to kill himself if she leaves him.
This time, however, she became angry with him and had packed her things so she could leave with their daughter, with the aid of her friend.
