The Toothworks-JC Marketing Hunters presented its 2011 Saipan Little League Big Division team sportsmanship trophy and certificate of appreciation to Dr. Alan Markoff, D.D.S. of Toothworks on Friday at their office in the TSL Plaza.
Team manager Tony Guerrero along with his son Anthony, assistant coach Pete Guerrero, player Eloy Cruz, and rookie Clayton Aguon met with Markoff and his staff to show their appreciation for their valued support.
“We want to thank Toothworks for helping make last season possible for us and feel it’s only right to give them the trophy. We hope to bond a lasting friendship for many seasons and trophies to come,” smiled Guerrero during the handoff.
Guerrero invited the staff to come watch them play next year and looks forward to putting on a good show.
Guerrero also is the head coach for the Junior Division Hunters, which boasts six returning players.
The veteran junior Hunters include Tommy, Thomas, and Jerome Reyes, Robert Tudela, Ian Lizama, and Jeremy Atalig and are expecting to pick up Major Division all-stars Alex Monkeya and Jonathan Cabrera.
Most of the players reside in Dandan and the Hunters is entering its fourth season as a team. The team also partners with the Bank of Saipan Red Sox in developing the younger players as they graduate through the age divisions.
Guerrero also had latte stone plaques crafted, which he will present to their co-sponsors, JC Marketing and Marianas Printing.
The Hunters finished the 2011 season with a 2-6 win-loss record, but have five returning players expected to suit up next season.
The Big League Hunters include Anthony Guerrero, Eloy Cruz, Joseph Palacios, Anthony Mendiola, and Lincoln Ingram.
The 2012 Saipan Little League season is expected to start sometime in February.
