Humanities Council offers free film workshop

The Northern Marianas Humanities Council is hosting a film workshop this Saturday, Oct. 17.

Aspects of film production from pre-production to post-production will be covered in the workshop, as we all as tips on how to use affordable equipment to achieve a professional look.

The workshop will be facilitated by Galvin S. Deleon Guerrero, who recently completed a Digital Filmmaking Intensive at New York University this past August. The Digital Filmmaking Intensive was composed of award-winning faculty members who provided instructions in the use of digital SLR cameras, lighting, audio recording and nonlinear editing. Lectures and demonstrations also covered important filmmaking skills, such as script development, cinematography, and directing actors.

Individuals who are interested in learning about film production and taking part in the Humanities Film Festival are invited to attend the film workshop this Saturday, Oct. 17, from 8am to 12pm at Mount Carmel School’s Maturana Building in Chalan Kanoa. The workshop is free and open to the public.
