House Ways and Means reviewing subpoenaed documents

The House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee is still reviewing the many documents Department of Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig submitted to comply with the committee’s subpoena.

Committee chair Rep. Donald M. Manglona (Ind-Rota) said Friday that the documents will not be referred to the House of the Judiciary and Governmental Operations Committee or any other committees.

“We are in the middle of the budget process. And so while we are waiting for the Senate, the committee will take a look  at all the documents that were submitted by the secretary and we’ll address those issues in our committee meetings,” he said.

Manglona said they had just received the documents Monday, last week, so they had no time to discuss it as a committee.

Manglona issued a subpoena to compel Finance to provide numerous reports or documents that the committee members have sought.

Finance Secretary David DLG Atalig submitted to the committee the requested documents by the Sept. 12 deadline. Manglona did not indicate whether all the requested documents were submitted.
