House OKs Fitial extradition request

After a debate, the House of Representatives adopted at 2:47pm today, Monday, a resolution asking Gov. Eloy S. Inos to take the necessary steps for former governor Benigno R. Fitial’s extradition to face the criminal charges level against him.

The extradition resolution was adopted by a vote of 13-3, with one abstention and three absences.

Those who voted “no” to adopt acting speaker Frank Dela Cruz’s (Ind-Saipan) resolution were Reps. Antonio Agulto (Ind-Saipan), Felicidad Ogumoro (R-Saipan), and Richard Seman (R-Seman).

Rep. George Camacho (R-Saipan) abstained. The three absences were Speaker Joseph Deleon Guerrero (Ind-Saipan), Reps. Roman Benavente (Ind-Saipan), and Ray Tebuteb (Ind-Saipan).

Session is still ongoing.
